Stefanos Tsitsipas was left in a pleasant shock after his girlfriend Paula Badosa dropped a hint of marring the Greek star. The duo recently played a doubles match on Thursday, December 21 at the World Tennis League (WTL) in Abu Dhabi.

Badosa and Tsitisipas are plying their trade for Team Kites, which also includes World No.2 Aryna Sabalenka and Grigor Dimitrov. The pair defeated Daniil Medvedev and Sofia Kenin of Team Eagles 6-4.

After the match, Badosa and Tsitsipas were involved in a hilarious interaction.

“I mean, I think this was the test. Like, either we get divorced or this goes better and better. So that was the test today,” Badosa said during the on-court interview.

“You mean break up?” Tsitsipas asked.

“Yeah. Divorce, no. Break up. Sorry,” Badosa said.

“I was trying to wait for a moment. I was thinking, since when I was married or something. But apparently there are some hints in there,” Tsitsipas replied.

Badosa and Tsitsipas announced their relationship back in June 2023 and have been active on social media platforms.

Tsitsipas said that having followed Badosa over the last few years, he was pleasured to share the court with the Spaniard. The two-time Grand Slam finalist also called Badosa his ‘favourite female tennis player’.

“It went amazing. It went amazing. I mean, it’s a pure pleasure to be sharing with not just Paula but someone that, you know, I’ve been following for a few years. I mean, my favorite female tennis player,” Tsitsipas added.

Both Tsitsipas and Badosa are gearing up to play in the Australian Open 2024 scheduled to get underway on Sunday, January 14. Badosa missed the previous edition of the tournament due to a right thumb injury and will be looking to make amends.
