India batter Rinku Singh played a sensational knock in India’s 2nd T20I match against South Africa. Playing at Gqeberha, Rinku hit his maiden T20I half-century as well. The highlight of his innings was Rinku hitting two terrific sixes of South Africa captain Aiden Markram, one of which shattered the press box glass.

Rinku took on the off spinner in the penultimate over of the first innings and slammed him for back to back sixes in the final two balls. Markram had done well in the match and had already picked the wicket of Jitesh Sharma. Rinku deposited Markram’s first ball over long on and hit the final ball straight over the bowler’s head for his second six of the over. The left-hander was forced to come in early in the after India lost their first three wickets in the powerplay of the match. Rinku took his time to build his innings and took charge after adjusting to the pace and bounce of the pitch. After the dismissal of captain Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku took off and kept the scoreboard moving.

The batter has started off his India career well, but had not scored a fifty till now. Before today, Rinku’s top score was against Australia in the fourth T20I of the recently concluded series where he got out for 46 runs in Raipur. Rinku’s innings was interrupted by rain in the final over of the innings. The batter was stranded at the non-striker’s end in the first three balls as India lost back to back wickets in the second and third ball of the over. At the time of writing Rinku was not out at 68 runs.
